We're sad to have to say goodbye to Trustees Dr Iain Kennedy, Dr Denise Glover, Dr Helena Amey and Dr Simon Lockett.

Following the Fund's 50th AGM held on 6 August we'd like to give a warm welcome to four new Trustees. 

Dr Durai Raj Jawahar has been elected as one of two Trustees representing Salop, Staffordshire, West Midlands, Leicestershire, Hereford & Worcester, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire. He has been a Trustee in the past (2002-2015). Durai Raj has been a GP for the past 35 years and lead partner at the Manor Park Medical Practice in Leicester since 1986.  The practice achieved local Beacon status for services to the population by providing psychiatrist, counselling, orthopaedic, physiotherapy and internal medicine.  NAPC Member, Treasurer and NED; he was a GP Commissioner for five years and also LMC Treasurer and Vice Chair.  He is currently a member of North-West HNN GP group, co-chair of Leicester City's 10 Primary Care Networks and Clinical Director of Millennium PCN and a local primary care home. He is passionate about the benefits of AI in primary care.

Dr Sarah Rann has recently been elected as one of two Trustees representing Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. Sarah trained in London and undertook GP training at the Royal Free hospital. She was a GP in Cambridgeshire for many years, as well as working for NHS England in Professional Standards. Before coming to Cambridge she lived and worked in Wales and Australia supporting people with bleeding disorders. As well as General Practice she spent much time in education as a GP tutor trainer appraiser and appraisal lead and professional standards for NHS England.  She leads a coaching network for Primary Care - Akeso and is a trustee for a local village Charity. Family, friends and LBD (little black dog) happily take up much of her time. 

Dr Edward Crawford has been elected as one of two representatives for Scotland. Having graduated from Glasgow University in 1995 he has been a GP Partner since 2001 and continues to work as a full-time GP with interests in care of the elderly, renal and pain.  Edward is currently a GP Advisor to the Scottish Ombudsman. He has been part of the Arrochar Mountain Rescue Team for the past 23 years.

Dr Peter Holden has been elected as one of two Trustees who represent Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Derbyshire. Peter is Senior Partner at Ashover & Matlock Practice, with interests in urgent and unscheduled care, kidney disease, Air Ambulance and Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine.  Peter is currently a Member of the Emergency Preparedness Resilience & Response Clinical Reference Group, DH/NHSE. He is also a Council Member of the British Medical Association and is the BMA General Practitioners Committee Advisor on  Practice Finance, Practice Premises, Rural Practice, Community Hospitals Urgent Emergency & Unscheduled Care,  Business Continuity Management & Emergency Preparedness.
